Skateboarding started out as an activity for kids but over the years has become a culture and lifestyle choice for a wide range of ages.

Skateboarding is now one of the most popular extreme sports across the world with the help of iconic skaters like Tony Hawk and Ryan Sheckler.

I’ve always really admired Ryan Sheckler because he started his career at such a young age and I think this is great for the industry as it shows that a career can be made from skateboarding. As he’s such a big influence on skateboarding, I decided to look a bit more into Sheckler and see what else there is to know about the skate star.

I came across an interview between Sheckler and X Games about his sobriety, The Sheckler Foundation and his up bringing. I thought this interview was great because it really goes in-depth about what he was going through when been a success at such a young age and how it effected his life.
