Snowboarding was invented in the 1960s and started out as snurfing. Yes, you read that right. A fellow named Sherman Poppen, an engineer living in Michigan, strapped two skis together and added some rope for steering, 50 years later and snowboarding is 5th most popular extreme sport in the world.

Snowboarding is a huge part of Wisdom because I’ve done for as long as I can remember, from the age of 6 I’ve gone on an annual trip snowboarding getting stuck in to virtually compulsory traditions such as après-ski.

As the ski season is in full motion, I’m taking a look at the hottest ski resorts right now (not hottest weather of course). I came across an article in Snow magazine on the top 10 ski resorts in the world. I thought this was really informative and suitable for any first time skiers or even just boarders who want new snow to ride. As well as this, some of snowboarding’s biggest events such as the USASA National championships  starting from the 1st of April through to the 4th.
